At the end of last year, Host employees with expiring PTO had the option of donating the monetary value to one of our employee-supported charities, Homeward Trails Animal Rescue. The Arlington-based organization is dedicated to finding homes in the Mid-Atlantic Region for dogs and cats rescued from high-kill animal shelters or whose owners could no longer care for them.

In 2017, Homeward Trails rescued 2,066 dogs and 602 cats, and Host’s donation of nearly $20,000 helped cover the following costs:

20 dogs' heartworm treatment
45 dog spay/neuters 
20 dogs shipped from Puerto Rico 
85 cat spays 
101 rabies vaccines
