Employees Give Our Local Waterways a Clean Start This Spring
06/05/2018
On May 22, 38 employees participated in the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay Cleanup Project, organized by Host’s service team and Green Team. The group joined thousands of volunteers in a multi-day effort to support a cleaner and healthier Chesapeake watershed as part of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay's Project Clean Stream—the largest cleanup event in the Chesapeake Bay region.
Volunteers braved the rain at Carderock Recreation Area along the Potomac River to collect trash, conduct water quality monitoring tests and record the location of invasive plants. Together, Host employees collected 70 pounds of microtrash, which is extremely harmful to the environment and our local wildlife.
