For the first time, Host achieved a place on the 2020 CDP Supplier Engagement Leaderboard. Inclusion on this list demonstrates that a company is effectively engaging with their suppliers on sustainability. Host’s score of an A—which is the Leadership level—indicates that we are implementing current best practices. Host is among the top 7% assessed for supplier engagement on climate change based on our 2020 CDP disclosure. 

Companies responding to the CDP climate change questionnaire also receive a Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) in addition to their climate change score. The companies with the best SER are celebrated as Supplier Engagement Leaders.

The SER rates how effectively companies are engaging their suppliers on climate change. CDP assesses performance on supplier engagement using a company’s response to selected questions on governance, targets, scope 3 emissions, and value chain engagement in the CDP climate change questionnaire.  

In 2020, approximately 400 companies out of over 5,600 earned a place on CDP’s Supplier Engagement Leaderboard. Host is one of 21 real estate companies globally and one of only two U.S. real estate companies that made the list.
