Host has signed on as a Founding Donor of the Nareit Foundation’s Dividends Through Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DDEI) Giving Campaign, making a $50,000 donation in support of advancing DEI in the REIT and publicly traded real estate industry.

Nareit’s DDEI initiative was created in 2017 to take actionable and sustainable measures that support the recruitment, inclusion, development and advancement of women, Black professionals, and other diverse individuals and members of underrepresented groups in the REIT and real estate industry. Launched in May 2022, the new DDEI Giving Campaign further supports and advances this initiative by providing assistance for charitable and educational organizations that will help create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive industry. 

Funds raised through the campaign will support programs that focus on educating and creating opportunities for diverse individuals and businesses within the REIT and real estate industry—such as real estate internships, high school career readiness programs, commercial real estate training and mentorships for future leaders, supplier diversity initiatives including supporting minority and women-owned businesses, and more. The initial campaign grantees will be announced in late 2022.

By joining this campaign as an inaugural donor and working together with Nareit and our REIT peers, we are reinforcing our commitment to actively advancing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging not only at Host, but industry wide.
