In preparation for the new school year, Host’s service team partnered with Playtime Project to host a back-to-school drive for kids facing family housing insecurity and help ensure they are equipped for academic success.
From pencils to paper to binders to calculators, employees donated enough school supplies to fill 235 backpacks, in addition to a monetary donation from Host to go toward the purchase of new backpacks for local students in need. The team personally delivered a truckload of supplies to the nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C.
Playtime Project is grateful to have had the Host Hotels & Resorts team support the children we serve through a company-wide school supply drive,” said Emily Murphy, Development and Database Manager at Playtime Project. “With their support, we're able to provide 235 children facing housing insecurity with quality school supplies and backpacks this school year. For children experiencing housing insecurity, Playtime strives to foster their sense of optimism in the future, and having a new backpack filled with the tools they need to succeed in school helps ensure they feel prepared, confident and excited to re-enter the classroom. Our partnership with Host Hotels & Resorts helps make their success possible!”
