Host Named One of America's Climate Change Leaders by USA Today

06/06/2024

For the first time, Host was named to USA Today’s list of America’s Climate Change Leaders, ranking fifth in the Real Estate & Housing sector. The 2024 list—the second publication in the series—identifies companies that are taking action to mitigate climate change.

USA Today partnered with Statista, a global provider of market and consumer data, to create their list, which includes U.S. based companies with more than $50 million in revenue that reported their carbon emissions independently. The analysis looks at companies' Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions (adjusted by revenue) between 2020 and 2022 and evaluates their climate impact. To make the list, companies must have reduced their carbon intensity by 3% year-to-year. The 2024 list recognizes 450 companies that are doing the best at reducing their carbon footprint.

Data and considerations used in the rankings include: emission intensity, annualized reductions in emission intensity, and carbon disclosure rating (based on CDP score), among other criteria.
