Representatives from Host Hotels & Resorts® and the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina management team received an incentive check for over $305,000 for their participation in San Diego Gas & Electric’s Savings By Design. This program encourages high performance design and construction projects that showcase economic and energy efficiency. The expansion of Marriott Hall, which concluded in June 2016, incorporates overall lighting, building envelope, mechanical and electrical efficiency enhancements that is estimated to save nearly 882,000 kWhrs annually and reduce energy demand by 88 kW. The new meeting space was designed to be LEED ® Silver BD+C: New Construction and is currently undergoing the certification process.
