Hispanic Heritage Month

HISPANIC AND LATINX HERITAGE CELEBRATION

We came together as a company to celebrate the rich culture, history and contributions of the Hispanic community and our colleagues and to honor both Hispanic and Latinx heritage. The event featured personal reflections from our Hispanic and Latinx colleagues, followed by a musical performance accompanied by a Mariachi band and an Argentine tango, both performed by our very own employees.

Womens History Month

WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH

Organized by our women’s employee resource group, we hosted a discussion with Jim Risoleo, president and chief executive officer of Host Hotels & Resorts, and Cia Buckley Marakovits, president and chief investment officer of Dune Real Estate, who shared personal stories and insights about her career journey in a more male-dominated field, valuable business experiences and more.

Lunar New Year

LUNAR NEW YEAR

We hosted our first-ever Lunar New Year celebration, featuring personal reflections by Host employees, a special lion dance performance and a happy hour with traditional “lucky” Chinese foods.

Corporate Citizenship

We are dedicated to being a good corporate citizen and supporting our local communities through financial support, community engagement and employee volunteer-led service events.

Soccer

DC SCORES AND SPECIAL OLYMPICS MARYLAND

Raised over $29,000 for DC Scores and Special Olympics Maryland via Host’s internal, online charitable marketplace. Every bid contributed directly to support the two local organizations to empower youth and promote holistic health and well-being.

Service Event

ROCK CREEK CONSERVANCY

Partnered with Rock Creek Conservancy to help protect Rock Creek by wrangling and removing non-native, invasive plants and weeds around the grounds of the Rock Creek Park Nature Center in Washington, D.C.

Green Team LAYC

LATIN AMERICAN YOUTH CENTER

Organized by Host’s Green Team, partnered with Latin American Youth Center to mulch, plant shrubs and flowers and build a vegetable and herb garden at LAYC’s Maryland Multicultural Youth Center.

Project Clean Stream

SERVICE TEAM

This group of employee volunteers promotes our EPIC values and culture by helping to select, organize and lead service events for all employees to participate in throughout the year.

2023 Green Team

GREEN TEAM

This group of employee volunteers champions sustainability in all areas of the company by promoting environmentally responsible practices and encouraging and implementing "green" programs at our corporate headquarters. The team also educates employees on green practices, in addition to organizing clean-up events at local parks, recycling events and annual celebrations for Earth Day.

2023 Women's History Month

WOMEN'S NETWORK

Created for and comprised of women and male allies, this employee resource group fosters professional development and networking opportunities for women at Host. Past events have included a panel discussion with our female board members, a lunch and discussion session with our female hotel general managers, book discussion, a communications coaching session and lessons with a certified golf pro.

Fireworks

FOURTH OF JULY

Employees celebrated Independence Day watching the D.C fireworks display on the rooftop of the National Museum of American History.

Garden Party

GARDEN PARTY

Employees created a personal garden, choosing from a variety of fresh flowers, herbs or vegetables.
